 The Leatherman's Loop is a 10k trail race held annually each spring. In 2013 the Loop is tentatively scheduled for: The fourth sunday in April (4/28/13) subject to permits and park approval. It is also possible it may be held the sunday before (4/21/13). Stay tuned for updates. Lottery Registration will open in early January 2013. Check back here then or sign up for our email list or friend us on Facebook to get a note before lottery begins. The event is held at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY. There [...] We received a note from Lesli Hiller, friend of the Loop and 2nd place women’s finisher in 2009. She is race director of the Police Officer Gary Farley Memorial Run 5k in Wantagh, Long Island. The race is October 4th, 2009. Officer Gary Farley was the last Nassau Police Officer killed in the line of [...] Prior to 2005 the Leatherman’s Loop results were tallied by hand by dedicated volunteers who insured the timing and finish order were recorded smoothly and quickly. The end result of their toil was a collection of posterboards with that year’s loop results meticulously pasted in order and hand tallied to determine winners in multiple categories. [...] |
