Continue reading ‘2013 Recap’ »]]> April 21st, 2013, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River, NY, 27th Leatherman’s Loop

Runners awoke to a bright sunny but chilly morning as dawn temperatures hit the freezing mark before sunlight brought some warmth to the day. And oh what a day! Since before sunrise, race organizers were busy capping the months of preparation that goes into staging this event to get ready for the 1,200+ runners and their spectators expected for the Loop.

Cars lined Reservation Road from 7am through just before 9am as runners streamed in from over 260 towns and cities from 24 different states as far away as California plus one Canadian province. Bedford had the most local representation with 129 runners registered followed closely by Lewisboro at 125. New York City, Katonah, and Pound Ridge rounded out the top 5 runner addresses.

As runners checked in and picked up their bibs, many made their next stop at the “Help Feed The Leatherman” tent — a food drive for the Community Center of Northern Westchester’s food pantry. The drive is in it’s 5th year and was spearheaded this year by 16 year old Katonah resident Sam Ceisler and helped by 16 year old Emily Casper of South Salem. We will update you all with the total weight of food donations collected when we hear back from them later this week. Last year runners donated over 1,000 pounds of food!

As runners gathered at the start line, Race Director Mike Paletta cautioned runners about the trail hazards and handed off the microphone to “El Compadre” Tony Godino. Tony outlined the start and said a few words of welcome and condolences for the victims at the Boston Marathon. Danny Martin spoke about beauty and tragedy and dedicated the race to all who have been involved in the pain and the beauty that surfaced out of Boston. Danny led the runners in the traditional Leatherman’s Loop Blessing then handed off to Theo Harris who started the runners out with a stirring acappela rendition of “Amazing Grace.” Runners joined in and sang the final verse with him. Tony rang the cowbell and runners were off!

The course was muddy after the recent rains and runners encountered “first mud” on the first turn going into the woods. The river water levels were a bit below average compared with past years but the mud level was in peak shape with the mud flats extra squishy and claiming several shoes and causing quite a few tumbles judging from the dried mud on shirts and arms and faces at the finish line.

Many runners wore Boston shirts and hats as a tribute. There was a runner dressed as a Franciscan monk, a runner dressed as Pocahontas, one in a Santa Claus top and hat, and a runner sporting an orange wig. Our favorite clown was injured this year but vowed to be back next year.

Tommy Nohilly of Goldens Bridge, NY won his eighth Loop with a time of 38:36. Past Loop winner Gerry Sullivan of Bronxville, NY came in 2nd at 39:56. John Jay High School sophomore Liam Hackett came in 3rd at 40:52. Gus Ellison of Rowayton, CT came 4th at 42:18. Matt Kershner, a senior at John Jay, was 5th at 42:30.

Laura Coogan of Brooklyn, NY won her first Leatherman’s Loop with a time of 46:29. Last year’s winner Ann MacDonald of Mt. Kisco was 2nd (47:42) and Deanna Culbreath of New York, NY came in 3rd (48:05). Cathrine Levine of Pound Ridge was 4th at 49:16 and Lindsey Felling of Larchmont, NY rounded out the top 5, finishing at 50:06.

The oldest finisher was Ian Beck at 77. The youngest finisher was Margaret Puccio at 7 (second youngest finisher ever in the Loop and youngest female finisher ever!). Oliver Stafford, Sawyer Cummings, and George Brand ( all 8 years old) were the youngest boys finishing.

Special mentions for Kennedy Kreutzer (8 years old) who finished in a blistering 1:01:29 coming in 42nd out 387 women finishers good enough for 6th in her age group which included women up to age 18! Eamonn Sullivan (9 years old) finished in 1:00:27 in his second Loop. Congrats to both — they bear watching in future Loops!

Loop veteran Joe Stanley ran his 27th consecutive Loop — an unbroken streak from 1987 through yesterday. Amazing! Shirley Iselin ran her 18th Loop, the most for any woman and an unbroken streak since 1996!

Several Loop veterans were injured or absent and were sorely missed. Rick Hubbell could not make it. George “Cannonball” Buchanan had to bow out earlier this week and Bob and Doug Goldblatt were unable to make it due to family committments. Kerry Arsenault is recovering from an ankle injury but was there to cheer on her team including husband Jerry “Mr Bimble” Turk. Everyone is already looking forward to next year!

Some local high school notes: John Jay Cross Country had a strong presence at the top of the Loop leaderboard with 3 members represented in the top 5: JJXC Boys Head Coach Tommy Nohilly (1st) as well as top runners Liam Hackett (3rd) and Matt Kershner (5th at 42:30). Rival Fox Lane Cross Country was represented at the top as well with Andrew Rosati and David Martinez back to back at #15 and #16.

Leatherman’s Loop News Volume 27 Issue 3: Loop Tomorrow!

To All Registered Runners:

The course is marked and ready to go…  We hope you are too!  The course is in great shape and ready for the race.

For those who like the summary – Arrive Early and Pack a Change of Clothes! And put your food donation in your sneakers now…

For detailed logistics information about this year’s Loop, check this article. Note there is NO SAME DAY REGISTRATION. We are full!

Don’t forget your food donation to the Community Center of Northern Westchester - “Help Feed the Leatherman!”  Look for the minivan with the banner!  It will be near the bib pickup area.  Check here for latest needs. Rice and beans were high on the list last time we checked in with CCNW.

…Put your food donation in your car or your sneakers now so you don’t forget it!

The gate attendant at the park will be waving loop participants through while counting cars — there is NO $10/car park entry fee collected in the morning — we have already included the parking fee in your race registration to speed up the park entry.

Arrive early – drive carefully.  We would like to begin as close to 9am as possible.  Plan on having your bibs and heading right to the starting line at 8:45 am.  Listen for the bagpiper who will signal the migration to the starting line.

Dogs must be on leashes at all times. If you are running with your dog please start at the back of the pack to minimize potential problems in the starting meadow with the large crowd running.

We will have a few pre-race announcements, take a few minutes to introduce a few special guests, then the 27th running of the Leatherman’s Loop will commence as we head off over the meadow.

If you find yourself injured, please STAY ON THE COURSE! Help will be on its way quickly. We have volunteers stationed throughout the course who can contact help quickly. We also have some key runners with cell phones ready to call in for assistance if any is required. We also have a runner sweep and a medical sweep following runners on the course.

To help us with the race scoring, please make certain that your race number bib is exposed before you enter the finishing chute and do not pin the tear-strip at the bottom of the bib to your shirt.  If you wish—at the beginning of the race—you can wear an extra layer over the shirt your number is pinned to which you can discard as you run by the teepee. It will be there for you near the teepee (or inside if it is raining) when you finish.

Please exercise caution and common sense at both of the stream crossings. Ease into each crossing slowly and do not enter them full stride. The exit of the first stream crossing can be slippery on the rock ledge.  Help the runner in front and the one behind if possible.

Bring a full set of warm dry clothes (including socks and shoes) to change in to after you finish.  You will get wet!  We will have water, coffee, bagels, and fruit at the finish—but its always a good idea to have your own water on race day.

Full race finishing results will be posted to the web site http://www.leathermansloop.org/results by late afternoon after the race. Send or UPLOAD any photos you’d like to share!

Continue reading ‘Four Days to Go…’ »]]> Leatherman’s Loop News, Volume 27, Issue 2: Four Days til Loop!

Plan to arrive early…  The Loop start time is 9am. Plan to be at the park before 8:20am to get your bibs (and t-shirts if ordered). Even earlier is better and will let you get a look around and some warm up time.

Remember - there is no same day registration.

Bib pickup will begin at 7AM on the day of the Loop at the showmobile.

Dogs are welcome at the Park but you must obey the Park’s leash law.  There will be many other dogs around.  If you plan to run with your dog please start at the back to minimize potential problems with the large crowd.  Please keep your dog close when running!

A reminder from the Pound Ridge Reservation park management: On Sunday PLEASE respect the park speed limit of 15 MPH while driving on the park roads.  Take special care driving the roadway into the park and to the parking meadow.

There will be volunteers directing the parking and guiding cars to park efficiently. Please follow their directions. It is going to be tight parking and we’d like to pack ‘em in!

A few course changes are in store due to Hurricane Sandy in the Fall. You will notice the spots if you are a repeat runner. There are always some new and old obstacles to keep you all on your toes.

The forecast calls for a great day on Sunday… The winter has been a much wetter one than last year so the trails are moist and squishy. The mud flats are primed to churn into some deep chocolate pudding. Wear your whitest socks! Everything is looking good to go.

Have a safe trip—CAR POOL if you can!  Park & Ride from Katonah train station lot on Woodbridge Road or John Jay High School on Route 121.

Come and spend a morning running in the woods of Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY. Meet at first parking lot of Lewisboro Town Park in South Salem, NY.

These woods are the home of the Leatherman Harriers, as well as a place that Micah, aka Caballo, enjoyed running.

The course is roughly a 4 mile loop that will keep you inspired and running free.

This run is free — but for those that are interested we will be accepting donations for Micah’s charity – http://www.norawas.org/

The organization is 100% volunteers and all the money goes to the Raramuri.

If you do not have money to spare but have some retired tee shirts, shoes, or any running apparel, we will be collecting it to send back to the canyons. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated.

To: All Who are Registered for the 2013 Leatherman’s Loop:

Buds are popping… peepers are peeping… streams are flowing… That means spring is here once again… Time for the 27th running of the Leatherman’s Loop Trail Race on April 21, 2013!

Race organizers Mike Paletta, Tony & Judy Godino, Rob Cummings and the dedicated Leatherman’s Loop volunteers have been working hard to set up this year’s event. All we need is YOU!

Below are some important instructions regarding the Loop.  Registration is packed full. We will need your help to ensure that loop day goes smoothly.

Here are some tips that you can incorporate into your plan for the morning and the day:

1.) ARRIVE EARLY! Please plan to arrive at the park before 8:20.  Car pool if you can. Traffic will back up considerably at the park entrance as race time approaches.  Please be patient.  The regular $10 parking fee is incorporated as part of the loop entry fee so entry will go more quickly.  It is always wise to arrive earlier than you think you need to in order to make sure you are all set by race start time (9am).  This is especially true if it is your first time running the Loop.

2.) DRIVE SLOWLY and CAREFULLY in the Park! Watch the volunteers who are directing the parking. PARK TIGHT! Plan ahead – Car Pool if you can!. For a helpful overview of the race location (parking, start, bib pickup), check the logistics page on the website here.

3.) BRING A FULL CHANGE OF CLOTHING! You will get wet and you will get muddy. Where and how you change is up to you. Towels are a must. A clean, dry set of shoes is a requirement. There has never been a runner who emerged dry and clean from the woods after a Loop. Plan accordingly!

4.) LISTEN ATTENTIVELY TO PRE-LOOP ANNOUNCEMENTS! We only get to see most of you all once a year and need a few minutes before the start. Race Director Mike Paletta will have important information about the course and safety.  You will be instructed about the hazards related to the stream crossings and current water and course conditions. Hidden boulders and slippery ledges lurk under the surface of the water. Slow down and DON’T DIVE into the water under any circumstances.

5.) LISTEN FOR THE START! Following the instructions, Danny Martin will give a brief poem/blessing to set the tone. Then the race bell will start the runners.

6.) IF YOU SEE MUD, RUN THROUGH IT! Especially at the entrance to the woods immediately after the start.  If you stop—or simply hesitate—the people behind you may crash into you… trust us.  There’s no avoiding the mud so simply embrace it, get dirty, and get going.

7.) WATCH FOR THE LEATHERMAN! Remember that this event celebrates the life of the Leatherman. Learn his story and by all means make some noise if he is out and about on Sunday.

8.) STAY ON COURSE IF YOU CAN’T CONTINUE! There will be a number of “sweeps” running the course following the slower runners. If for any reason you can’t continue, wait for them to get to you to assess your needs. The park is over 4,300 acres so don’t leave the course unless you know exactly where you are going.

9.) ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED! If the dogs are running in the Loop they MUST START NEAR THE BACK with their humans! If you are running with your dog, please hold back at the start and to be certain that your dog or its leash does not interfere with or impede any of the other runners. The county park law requires dogs be leashed at all times while in the park for the safety of the dogs, other park patrons, and other dogs visiting.

10.) THERE IS NO SAME DAY REGISTRATION! We simply do not have room for any more registrations (Except for the last two spots – see PS below for details!).  Please understand the position we are put in when we have to refuse someone entry.  If someone you know is interested in next year’s loop, there is a form at the website to submit name and email address. If you are signed up for this year’s Loop you are already on this email list.

11.) BRING FOOD DONATIONS! Don’t forget donations for the Help Feed the Leatherman Food Drive. Bring your non-perishable donations to the Loop and we will have a drop off point near the registration trailer. Your generosity will benefit the Community Center of Northern Westchester.  Thanks to Sam Ceisler for taking on the responsibility for this 5th year of the food drive. We will send more information about this community effort in a separate email.

12.) RESULTS: Printed lists of finishers with time and place will be available soon after the finish at the bib pickup area and shortly after that on the Loop website. Check it out at http://www.leathermansloop.org/results.

13.) THANK A VOLUNTEER! A tremendous amount of volunteer effort goes into making the Loop a special event each year. T-shirt designers, registration volunteers, pie buyers, course setters, trail wardens, box lifters, water servers, food preparers, coffee brewers, parking coordinators, photographers, videographers, and the clean-up crew—not to mention the Pound Ridge and Lewisboro Police officers and the fantastic and dedicated members of the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps!

This event is truly a group effort and tribute to the spirit of the community. We are grateful that we have such a wonderful group of Loop enthusiasts and are thankful that we have the thousands of acres of parkland at the Rez to enjoy!

Continue reading ‘Carpool to the Loop’ »]]> If you are registered for the Loop (April 21st, 2013), look to get into or create a carpool!

Carpooling to the Loop is a time honored tradition and helps everyone out in many ways:

• Less gas burned = save money.
• Fewer cars on the road = eases bottlenecks coming into the park.
• Fewer cars in the parking lot = easier and quicker parking on race day.
• Less money spent on parking = more money to donate to charity.

If you are signed up solo and don’t know of anyone to carpool with, leave a comment below or on Facebook. Last year we got a few people together just through comments on this website. And make a new friend in the bargain! Just make sure you bring a plastic bag, a change of clothes & shoes, and towel so you don’t mess up your friend’s car.

If you are coming from NYC on the train (Metro-North Harlem line – Katonah Station is best option) you can either take a cab from the station or leave a comment below looking for a ride or cab share. [Katonah Taxi 914-232-5772]

The New York Trail and Ultrarunning Meetup group got a bunch of folks together for last year’s Loop. Join up there and post a note asking about a ride.

Continue reading ‘5th Annual “Help Feed The Leatherman” Food Drive’ »]]> The volunteer food drive “Help Feed The Leatherman” collected 1,144 pounds of food donations for the Community Center of Northern Westchester food pantry in at the Loop in 2012. This brings the four year total of food donations to over 2,500 pounds with the totals growing each year.

This year the food drive organizer, David Ceisler, is unable to make it to the Loop. But his son Sam Ceisler, a student at John Jay High School and helper these past 4 years is taking on this year’s food drive. Sam (pictured below from the first year of the food drive) will be set up near the showmobile on the morning of the Loop. Please remember to bring some food donations! List of needed items is below.

Why a food drive? The Old Leatherman came to the same places on such a regular schedule that people “could set their clocks by his arrival.” In each community he passed, the Leatherman had identified a home or two where he knew friendly people would provide food whenever he appeared. Some residents would set plates of food out for him when he was expected, and the Leatherman would come by and clean the plate. We are asking our runners to “put the plate of food out” for the Leatherman.

People come the center every day in need of help. The Center’s mission is to improve the well-being of our neighbors. That is what many people years ago did for the Leatherman.

The Center is in need of

• Canned fruit and vegetables
• Dried and canned beans 
• Hot and cold cereal 
• Tuna and canned meat 
• Cans of soup, beef stew and chili 
• Pasta, rice and spaghetti sauce
• Peanut butter and jelly
• Fruit juice 
• Baby food and diapers 
• Dry or shelf-stable milk

This is not a requirement. Please help if you can. Thanks to David for conceiving this idea and thanks to Sam for gathering and getting the donations to the Community Center after the Loop.

To help you remember the donations: Put the cans or other items in your running shoes the night before (or on the drivers seat of your car!).

The Leatherman depended on the charity and kindness of strangers and neighbors. Let us extend the wonderful goodness and spirit of our loop, as we gather food for our neighbors.  THANKS for your generosity!

April 6, 2013 – 10am to 3pm

Get ready for a day of fun, adventure, and exploration! Orienteering is a sport that uses map and compass to navigate your way as fast as you can through a woodland course of checkpoints. There will be three course levels from easy to challenging. If you are an orienteering beginner, there will be hands-on instruction given by West Point Cadets and Hudson Valley Orienteering experts. They will be available before you start out on the course! Check-in/Registration is from 10am to Noon. Courses will be open for navigation from 10am until 3pm, but course entrance will close at 1pm.

Continue reading ‘The Next Six Sundays…’ »]]> Many of you know about our Sunday trail running group. We meet every Sunday at 8am, usually at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation (aka The Rez) but sometimes we go farther afield… Join up with us for a group run on the trails!

The next six Sundays leading up to the Loop we have some plans:

3/17 – Meet at Leonard Park in Mt Kisco at the Pagoda. We’ll run a course that takes us through 4 parks in a greenbelt journey.

3/24 – Mudders and Grunters in Yorktown Heights, NY. Westchester’s oldest trail race has plenty of mud and lots of grunting — plus a water crossing at the 4.5 mile mark of the 5 mile trail run. Lots of fun!

3/31 – Easter Sunday! Maybe go on the green and yellow trails at the Rez? course TBD!

4/7 – Some Harriers will be running the Bimbler’s Bash trail race up in Guilford CT while others will be doing a course check of the Loop.

4/14 – Final group run course check before the Loop.

4/21 – 27th Running of the Leatherman’s Loop!

The Bedford Historical Society celebrates Tony Godino, Local Historian. Known by many as a Founder of the Legendary Leatherman’s Loop 10k Trail Race at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and the Run The Farm 5 Mile Trail Race at Muscoot Farm. He has also contributed mightily to our understanding of local history in Bedford and surrounding communities with his lifelong good works and historic restorations.

Join us for an evening of wine, beer, comfort food, speakers, a preview of the Leatherman’s Loop documentary, photos, The Leatherman Bluegrass Band, a fiddler, and plenty of good company!

The tribute will be held the Friday before the Leatherman’s Loop race. As you know, spots in the Loop are have been sold out since January… BUT — The Leatherman Harriers are donating the FINAL TWO SPOTS for the Leatherman’s Loop 2013. The two spots will be auctioned off near the close of the evening to the highest bidder with proceeds going directly to the Trailside Museum and Bedford Historical Society. If you missed your chance at the lottery — or if you know someone who did — here’s a final chance at a spot in the Loop!

Tickets to the tribute are $100/person and can be purchased at the Bedford Historical Society’s website bedfordhistoricalsociety.org or by calling (914) 234-9751.

All Proceeds from the evening will be split between the Friends of the Trailside Museum and the Bedford Historical Society’s Education Fund.

Sunday Runners in front of the Trailside Museum before an early winter excursion on the trails of the Rez.

The Trailside Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is a one-of-a-kind place in Westchester. The main museum building was built in 1937 and the addition was built in 1977. Last year the Museum celebrated its 75th anniversary and it is still going strong.

You can become a supporter of the Trailside Museum by joining the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. The Friends are a non-profit group that support programs and research at the Museum and provides volunteers for the Museum and maintenance programs at the park.

The Friends also run the small gift shop at the Museum which offers nature-related gifts and books, identification guides to plants and animals, maps, and more.

Different levels of membership are available from $25 through over $500. We have scanned in the membership form and posted it at our website. The form has the details and mailing address. Members receive the friends Newsletter and notice of programs at the park.

BONUS!: Members who sign up for the “Wood Turtle” membership level (or above) at $100 receive a pass for FREE car entry into the park for the entire year. Entry costs $10 per car so this can be a substantial savings over the course of the year.

The Leatherman’s Loop supports the Trailside Museum with donations of Loop proceeds each year. Many runners and friends have asked us how they can do more to support the park. Joining the Friends of Trailside is a fantastic way to show your support for the park. Join today!

Welcome back for our second annual running of “a mild sprain”, thanks to all of you who participated in last year’s inaugural event. We are so excited to be putting this on again. Registration is now open, please go to http://www.amildsprain.org

This year we are expecting an even  bigger turn out and are limiting the field to 400 runners. Entry is only $40* and we encourage all to sign up quickly. Those great race shirts and gift bags are only guaranteed to those that sign up by May 1st.

Lottery is finished – 2013 Loop registration is closed. We have sent the email notifications to runners who were picked and not picked. The emails went out at 6:20pm on 1/21/2013. (If you have not received your email, check your spam folder.)

If someone else signed up for you in a group, the confirmation went to whichever email address you were signed up with. If you haven’t received a confirmation or consolation note, check the searchable list below.

Continue reading ‘A Trail Running Winter and Spring’ »]]> There are some great upcoming trail races you may be interested in running this winter and spring…

First up is the NJ Winter Trail Series in Morristown, NJ which is halfway over but still has two more races in the series on January 12th and February 3rd.

After then the Mudders and Grunters 5 mile trail race at FDR Park in Yorktown, NY takes place March 24th.  Trail runners flock to this classic event, many dressed in team costumes. The water crossing near the end is a treat!

The Bimblers Bash 10k in Guilford, CT is next up on Sunday April 7th, 2013 and is hosted by the Bimbler’s group who include 7 time Loop women’s winner Kerry Arsenault. The 10k distance is more of a guideline as the course is rumored to be a bit longer… Then there’s our favorite race of the year on April 21st! Following that on May 5th is Where the Wild Things Run 5k trail run (and kids fun run) in Wilton CT at the Woodcock Nature Center.

If you are up for a longer challenge, Todd Jennings is directing Rock The Ridge 50 mile endurance challenge at the spectacular Mohonk Preserve on May 4th, 2013. The challenge is open to relay teams, groups, or solo runners. All speeds welcome. The challenge will raise money to support the trails of the preserve.

Last year one of our Sunday Run crew, Dave Vogel, started A Mild Sprain in Yonkers, NY to raise money for JDRF. On May 19th, 2013 he’s bringing this tough 4.25 mile trail run through the woods of Sprain Ridge County Park back for a second year.

The Rockwood Ramble 10k trail run is held on Saturday, June 9th at Rockefeller State Park overlooking the Hudson River. It runs through the trails of Potanico Hills and the Rockefeller estate. A beautiful introduction to summer trails!

For a great and constantly updated list of trail races in the tri-state area, look no further than this list from Chris Jaworski of the Essex Running Club. Chris is a die hard trail and ultra runner who has personally sampled many of the trail races he lists.

Put these on your calendars now if you are interested. Registration is live for some of them now. All are great races! For the sundays that are not booked with races, come out and train on the trails of Ward Pound Ridge Reservation with our Sunday Runs group. All abilities welcome!

Leatherman’s Loop News: Volume 27, Issue 1

The 27th Running of the Leatherman’s Loop will be on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY.

All runner registration will be via Loop Lottery.

The Loop Lottery will open at 12:01am Thursday, January 10th, 2013 and close Monday, January 14, 2013 at midnight — 5 full days total.

There is no immediate rush to sign up — but don’t wait too long lest you forget! Once it is closed we won’t accept any new lottery entrants.

To sign up, visit the Leatherman’s Loop website during the lottery registration period and there will be links to the registration site.

Runners will enter their information into the lottery registration, including a credit card number. Your credit card will not be charged unless you are picked in the Loop Lottery.

After the Loop Lottery entry closes on Monday, January 14th we will have the drawing for winners on or just after Monday, January 21st. Lottery winners and losers will be notified via email and winners will be charged the race entry fee (and optional t-shirt cost if ordered).

Please understand that there are more runners than spots available. Some folks are bound to be disappointed when they are unable to get in for 2013. We hope everyone gets the reasoning behind the lottery and the course limits.

We have put together a list of frequently asked questions about the Loop Lottery. It addresses questions about group lottery entry, duplicate registrations, and other questions you might have.

We are interested in making the lottery as simple and hassle-free as possible. We appreciate any feedback or thoughts you have and can share with us. We are gearing up for the Loop Lottery 2013. We ran the entries by full lottery for the 2012 Loop and it made registration much easier for everyone — runners and organizers alike.

We are constantly working to put together the simplest, most straightforward sign up, lottery, and winning entrant notification possible. Everyone who is signed up with the Loop email list will receive notification of Loop Lottery details.

We’ll also post brief notes to Facebook and Twitter linking back here about the lottery if you are following the Loop those places.

If you are not sure whether your email is on the notification list, sign up again – we will automatically eliminate any dupes so you won’t get multiple copies (unless you sign up at more than one email address!).

Some notes:

• Date for the Loop is Sunday, April 21, 2013. 9AM start.
