April 26th, 2015 • Ward Pound Ridge Reservation • Cross River, NY • 29th Leatherman's Loop At 5:57am the sun came up strong on a crisp 33 degree frost-glazed meadow, gradually lighting up the volunteers preparing for the arrival of 1,200 runners. This coming September is the 4th Westchester Toughman Triathlon. The main event is Sunday, September 11, 2011. The Tough Kids Triathlon is the day before, September 10th. Leatherman’s Loop Donates Money to Help Restore Cemeteries

Earlier this month, the Leatherman Harriers donated some of the proceeds from the 2009 Loop to the Town Historian Offices of the Town of Bedford to assist in the restoration of historic cemeteries in Bedford. The town has historic cemeteries throughout with new ones discovered (or rediscovered) each year.

We received a note from Lesli Hiller, friend of the Loop and 2nd place women’s finisher in 2009. She is race director of the Police Officer Gary Farley Memorial Run 5k in Wantagh, Long Island. The race is October 4th, 2009. Leatherman’s Loop Past Results Project

Prior to 2005 the Leatherman’s Loop results were tallied by hand by dedicated volunteers who insured the timing and finish order were recorded smoothly and quickly. The end result of their toil was a collection of posterboards with that year’s loop results meticulously pasted in order and hand tallied to determine winners in multiple categories. Good News! MUD!

GOOD NEWS!!! A few of us ran this morning in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and were treated to some of the deepest mud that we have ever experienced. The mud is so soft that rocks and boulders previously on the surface have sunk a foot or so into it. At points along the trails, we sank into it well mid-way to our knees.
