One Month To Go!

2009 t-shirtRegistered Loop Runners,

More snow?!? Winter is not giving up without a fight! No matter the weather, it’s still just one month until the 25th running of the Leatherman’s Loop on May 1st!

We are planning a memorable event that will have you wanting more! Our official starter this year will be Tiokasin Ghosthorse. He is the host of First Voices Indigenous Radio on WBAI NY, a radio show that is syndicated nationally focusing on indigenous peoples worldwide.  Tiokasen is from the Cheyenne River Lakota (Sioux) Nation of South Dakota.

Caballo Blanco who was featured in the book “Born to Run” will be back again running the Loop this year.  He had such a great time last year when we invited him back for this year he was all for it.

We have posted a brand new “Clickable Results” section to the website containing all 24 years of Loop Results.  The results are linked so you can show all of your times over all years together or (for example) show all of the M40 division or F30 division in a year. It is a cool resource that you should click around. Thanks Mel for transcribing and Dan for working web magic on the data pile.

Training Note: A small group of runners have been meeting at the Lewisboro Town Park on Sunday mornings at 8AM to train on the Loop trails.  All are invited and welcome—next run 4/3 @ 8AM and continuing every Sunday morning until the Loop.  Starting the following Sunday (4/10) we will run group course checks starting 8am from the Meadow parking lot at the Rez. Check back at the site or the Loop Facebook page for details.

More logistics information will follow in the coming weeks via email and posts on the website.  There are always some surprises on Loop day…

See you on the trails!
