If you are familiar with the Raven Rocks Run – our fall race at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation – you know we have been working with the county to help bring back the Cross River Mountain Fire Tower to the park.
The tower was decommissioned in 1971 and taken down in the early 1980s. An effort to bring back the tower was begun before 2009 and persisted through the past decade+ until 2019 when the county committed to restoring the fire tower atop the highest peak in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, known as the Cross River Mountain.
