The Fire Tower Trail Half Marathon & 10k will have its FIRST RUNNING this June!
We’ve been advocating and pushing for over 15 years to bring back the historic fire tower to the park. Now that it is becoming a reality we want to help show it off — and raise money at the same time!
The half marathon will start at 8am and the 10k will start at 9am.
These new trail races at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation are sure to test your running.
- 8AM – The half marathon goes to all of the overlooks of the park in addition to the highest point (the site of the currently being reconstructed fire tower!). It also hits all of the rock features of the Rock Trail.
- 9AM – The 10k hits the fire tower summit as well plus two of the six rock features of the park. The 10k course is a hilly and challenging test for any trail runner.
Sign up here to run in the race.
If you can’t run we have many race volunteer opportunities plus a place to donate and show your support!
The race will help raise money for the Friends of the Fire Tower not-for-profit. The goal of the Friends group is to enhance the accessibility of the new Fire Tower and create educational opportunities at the fire tower site and around the area. The friends group is part of the Westchester Parks Foundation, a 501c3 charity.
Check historic photos, current progress photos, and some recent videos about the fire tower.
Sign up in advance — or on race day. Half Marathon starts at 8am. 10k starts at 9am.
